Description

The Citronic Q-PAD-8 is a compact mixer built for live use, project studios, laptop DJs and podcasting. It runs on USB-C power using the supplied adaptor with a UK plug, and a second USB-C port acts as an audio interface for direct recording and playback from a PC. That means you can record your mix and play tracks back through the same connection without extra hardware. It measures 265 x 192 x 56mm and weighs 966g, so it takes up very little space on a desk or in a gig bag.

There are four mono channels, each taking an XLR input for a microphone or a 6.3mm jack for line or instrument level, with the two selectable. Individually switchable +48V phantom power supports condenser microphones on these channels. Two further stereo line channels accept 6.3mm jacks, or a single jack for mono working. Every channel has a Gain control plus Bass and Treble EQ, along with an AUX control that either feeds the internal digital delay effect or sends the signal to external gear through the AUX output.

For playback, a USB-A (US: type-A) connector reads mp3 and wma files from a pen drive (US: flash drive), and the built-in Bluetooth receiver streams wireless audio from a phone or tablet. Outputs cover main outs on both jack and XLR, a headphone output, an AUX out and stereo RCA recording outputs. Between the effects, the range of inputs and the flexible routing, the Q-PAD-8 handles a lot in a small footprint.
