Description
The Citronic HDC555 is a heavy duty moulded equipment case built to keep your gear safe in transit and storage. The shell is made from high density ABS, so it stands up to knocks and pressure while staying light enough to carry. Inside you get pluck foam, which lets you pull out cubes to shape cut-outs around whatever you're storing, from microphones and cameras to small mixers and cables.
Sealing is handled by an integral gasket that runs around the lid, giving the case an IP66 waterproof rating. That means it keeps out dust and powerful jets of water, so it copes well with outdoor jobs and damp storage. Two lever clamps hold the lid shut firmly, and a pressure equalisation valve lets air in and out as altitude or temperature changes, so the case is easy to open after transport and won't strain the seal.
For carrying, there's a folding soft-grip handle that sits flat when not in use. This is a large case, useful when you need one box to hold several items with room for the foam layers. If you care about your kit, the way you move it matters, and the HDC555 is built to take the day to day handling that touring and location work throws at it. It works equally well for hire stock, field recording rigs and anyone moving fragile equipment between sites.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP66 rating mean?
IP66 means the case is fully protected against dust and can withstand powerful water jets from any direction. It is not rated for full submersion, but it will keep contents dry in heavy rain and wet conditions.
How does the pluck foam work?
The interior is filled with pre-scored foam cubes. You pull out the cubes by hand to form cut-outs shaped around your equipment, giving a snug, custom fit without any tools.
What is the pressure equalisation valve for?
The valve lets air pass in and out to balance internal and external pressure. This makes the sealed case easy to open after changes in altitude or temperature and reduces strain on the gasket.
How is the case secured and carried?
The lid is held shut by two lever clamps that press against the gasket for a firm seal. A folding soft-grip handle lets you carry the case and folds flat when not in use.
What is the case made from?
The shell is moulded from high density ABS, which is impact-resistant and hard-wearing while keeping the weight manageable for regular transport.
