Description

This Citronic guitar lead is built for unbalanced signals, whether you're connecting an electric guitar, another instrument or a general audio source. The nylon braid that covers the cable is there to cut down on tangles and add a layer of protection to the conductors inside. It comes in retro-style colour options, so you can match it to your kit or just pick a look you like, and there are two lengths to choose from: 3.0m and 6.0m.

Inside the braid you'll find pure copper conductors, made up of 13 strands at 0.12mm each, with cotton reinforcement running alongside for extra strength. The jacket is a soft-grip, rubberised material that also helps keep the cable from tangling as you move around. Connections are machine-soldered rather than done by hand, which keeps them consistent, and the plugs themselves are professional die-cast 6.3mm mono jacks (known as 1/4 inch jacks in the US). One end has a straight plug and the other is right angled, which sits neatly against a guitar body or a floor pedal.

The overall cable diameter is 6.6mm, giving it enough weight to feel solid without being stiff. It's a straightforward, practical lead that does the job on stage, in rehearsal or at home, and the braided finish means it should hold up to regular coiling and unplugging. If you want a reliable instrument lead with a bit of retro character, this is a sensible pick.

Frequently Asked

What lengths does this lead come in?

You can choose between a 3.0m and a 6.0m version, so pick whichever suits your setup and how far you need to move from your amp.

What connectors are fitted?

It has one straight 6.3mm mono jack plug and one right-angled 6.3mm mono jack plug. In the US these are usually called 1/4 inch jacks.

Can I use it for instruments other than guitar?

Yes. It works with guitar, bass, keyboards and other instruments or audio sources that carry an unbalanced mono signal.

What is the cable made from?

The conductors are pure copper, made up of 13 strands at 0.12mm diameter each, with cotton reinforcement inside a nylon braid and a rubberised jacket.

Why does one end have a right-angled plug?

The right-angled plug sits flat against a guitar body or floor pedal, which keeps it out of the way and reduces strain on the socket.

Does the braid actually help with tangling?

The nylon braid and rubberised jacket are both designed to be anti-tangle, so the cable coils and stores more neatly than a plain rubber lead.
