Description

Our Citronic Classic Retro Braided Guitar Lead connects your guitar, bass or instrument to an amp or audio input for unbalanced mono signals. The 6.6mm cable is wrapped in a nylon braid that helps stop tangles and adds a bit of protection for the wiring inside. The retro braided look comes in a few colour options, so you can pick something that suits your kit.

Inside the jacket you get pure copper conductors, made up of 13 strands at 0.12mm each, with cotton reinforcement to keep the cable sturdy through repeated coiling and gigging. The outer jacket is soft-grip and rubberised, which makes the lead comfortable to handle and easier to pack away without knots. Connections are machine-soldered for consistency, and the plugs are professional die-cast 6.3mm mono jacks. One end is a straight jack plug and the other is right angled, which is handy for guitars where the socket sits flat against the body.

A 6.3mm jack is also known as a 1/4 inch jack in the US, so this lead fits standard guitar and instrument inputs on both sides of the pond. We stock it in 3.0m and 6.0m lengths: the shorter run works well for a home setup or a fixed rig, while the 6.0m gives you room to move on stage. It carries unbalanced signals only, so it suits guitars, basses and line-level instrument sources rather than balanced microphone runs.

Frequently Asked

What length options are available?

This lead comes in 3.0m and 6.0m lengths. Choose the shorter run for a fixed or home setup, or the 6.0m if you need more room to move on stage.

What is the difference between the two plug ends?

One end has a straight 6.3mm mono jack plug and the other has a right angled 6.3mm mono jack plug. The right angled end sits flush against a guitar body where the socket is flat.

Is a 6.3mm jack the same as a 1/4 inch jack?

Yes. The 6.3mm jack is commonly called a 1/4 inch jack in the US. It fits standard guitar and instrument inputs.

Can I use this lead with a microphone?

This is an unbalanced mono lead intended for guitars, basses and line-level instruments. It is not suited to balanced microphone connections.

Does the braiding help with tangling?

The nylon braid and rubberised jacket are both designed to resist tangling, so the lead is easier to coil and store between uses.
