Description

The Chord XU2-B is a dual-channel UHF wireless microphone system built around a compact half-width 1U rack receiver. It comes with two bodypack transmitters, each supplied with a neckband and lavalier mic option, making it suited to presenters, instructors and vocalists who need to move freely. The receiver uses a true diversity design with dual antennas (aerials) and internal distribution to minimise dropouts and keep reception reliable across the working area.

Carrier frequencies are arranged in 10 groups of 9 selectable UHF frequencies, covering both the UK/EU license-free UHF band and the PMSE licensed duplex gap. The front panel has a volume control and indicator LEDs per channel, plus a colour TFT display showing levels and the settings menu for frequencies and colours. Each transmitter has its own LCD display for frequency and battery status, with a backlight that can be set to one of six colours so channels are easy to tell apart. Settings sync via infrared from the receiver to the transmitters, which keeps setup quick.

Connectivity covers 1, 2 or 4 XLR outputs depending on the configuration, along with a single 6.3mm mix output. This XU2-B version provides two channels. The set includes hardware for mounting into a 1U rack space, with extension cables so the antennas can be front-mounted if the rear panel is hard to reach. Each transmitter runs on 2 x AA batteries and gives a wireless range of up to 60m. The receiver measures 205 x 205 x 44mm and weighs 755g, so it fits neatly alongside other half-width units in a rack.
