Description

The AV:Link HDVC4Kv2 captures both HDMI video and audio signals and sends them to a PC, laptop or smart device for preview and storage. It's a compact plug and play device that needs no external power source and no additional drivers, so you can connect it and start recording within a minute or two. This is the updated version, now with USB3.0 connectivity for both USB Type-A and the newer USB Type-C ports.

It works with common acquisition software such as VLC, OBS and Amcap, which makes it a practical choice for live streaming, screen recording or archiving footage. The maximum input resolution is 3840×2160 at 30Hz, with an output resolution of 1920×1080 (1080p), so incoming 4K sources are captured and passed through at Full HD. Supported video formats include YUY2 and MJPEG, with L-PCM audio and 24/30/36-bit deep colour handling.

Typical uses include transferring footage from camcorders and action cameras (action cams), recording video games, capturing live streams or saving office and video meetings to a hard disk or flash media. It's compatible with Windows, Android and Apple iOS, and takes a HDMI input up to a 15m AWG26 standard cable. Drawing just 0.2A at 5V DC over the USB connection, it stays cool and portable at 27g. The unit measures 11 x 23 x 240mm.
