Description
This Bluetooth receiver sits inside a standard 1-gang plastic wallplate, giving you a neat way to add wireless audio to a room without any trailing cables. It connects to Bluetooth-enabled devices such as smartphones, tablets and iPods, so anyone in range can send audio straight through the plate. We supply it with a UK power supply and a 50mm backbox, which makes fitting it into a wall or trunking straightforward.
It runs Bluetooth 5.0 with apt-X support, giving reduced latency and a transmission range of up to 30m in clear line of sight. A central knob handles power and volume together for simpler control, while status and power LEDs show you when the unit is on and paired. For devices that don't use Bluetooth, there's a 3.5mm AUX in socket (also called a headphone jack in some setups), and an internal terminal block handles the signal connection behind the plate.
Audio output is available as Bluetooth or stereo line level through the 3.5mm jack, plus a 5-way balanced screw terminal for wiring into a wider system. The plate itself measures 87 x 87 x 68mm and weighs 62g, with power supplied at 5VDC/1A through the included PSU. It works well in classrooms, boardrooms, kitchens or home studies, wherever you want a fixed point for wireless audio that stays tidy and out of the way.
