This 50m HDMI lead uses active fibre optic technology (AOC) to carry the HDMI signal over much longer distances than a standard copper cable, and without the signal loss you'd normally see at these lengths. It supports video resolutions up to 8K Ultra High Definition at 60Hz, with a video bandwidth of up to 48Gb/s. Built to HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 2.2, it's a practical choice where the source and display sit a long way apart.

We've designed this lead with installers in mind. One end has a detachable plug that, once removed, reveals a micro HDMI plug with a much smaller diameter. That means you only need to drill a 12mm hole to route the cable through walls or trunking, rather than making space for a full-size HDMI head. When you reattach the plug, push it firmly and fully back into place to keep the connection secure. The reduced micro HDMI end is also handy for connecting to smaller devices such as a Raspberry Pi, camcorders and tablets.

The alloy headshells and gold-plated connectors help keep the signal clean, while the thin 4.8mm outer diameter fibre optic cable stays flexible over long runs. That combination makes the lead easier to work with in tight spaces and behind fixed installations, where a thicker, stiffer cable would be awkward.
