Description
The AV:Link 4KS18 is an 8K HDMI splitter that sends a single HDMI source to eight displays at once. It supports resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60Hz, so it keeps pace with the latest 8K screens while still working with lower resolution sets. Connection and installation are straightforward, with one HDMI input feeding all eight outputs simultaneously.
An 8-mode EDID switch lets you set the video and audio formats you need, which helps when your displays have different capabilities and you want a consistent output across the wall. On the audio side it handles DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, Dolby-AC3 and DSD formats. Deep colour is supported at 8, 10 and 12bit, and the maximum data rate is 40Gbps. Transmission runs up to 10m at 8K 60Hz over each HDMI (also written HDMI cable) run.
The unit sits in a tough metal chassis with a satin silver finish, and the slimline shape keeps it tidy in a rack or on a shelf. It runs across a wide operating temperature range of -15°C to +55°C, which suits it to varied environments. An RS232 serial connection is included for online firmware updates. It works well for gaming and home entertainment, and it is equally at home in hospitality and other commercial venues that need multiple display feeds from one source.
