Description
The AV:Link 4KS12 is an 8K HDMI splitter that sends a single HDMI source to two displays at the same time. It supports resolutions up to 7680 x 4320 at 60Hz, so it keeps pace with the latest 8K screens while also handling lower resolutions. Setup is straightforward: connect your source to the input and run HDMI leads out to each display.
An 8-mode EDID switch lets you set the video and audio output precisely, which helps when your two displays have different capabilities. On the audio side it passes DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, Dolby-AC3 and DSD formats, and it handles 8, 10 and 12-bit deep colour. The maximum data rate is 40Gbps, and transmission runs to 10m at 8K 60Hz. There is also an RS232 serial connection, used for online firmware updates only.
The splitter sits in a tough metal chassis with a satin silver finish, and its slimline shape fits neatly into an AV setup. It works across an operating temperature range of -15°C to +55°C. This makes it a practical choice for gaming and home entertainment, as well as hospitality and other commercial venues that need to feed several displays from one HDMI source. Note that a splitter copies one source to multiple screens, unlike an HDMI switch (switcher) that selects between several sources for one screen.
