Description

The Adastra VM25BT is an active horn speaker built for mobile announcements and alerts. It mounts to a vehicle roof using an adjustable bracket with a removable suction cup base, so you can fit it when needed and take it off again afterwards. Power comes from a 12V cigar lighter lead, and the internal 25W amplifier drives sound out to a range of 700m to 1km depending on conditions.

A detachable wired handset holds the microphone along with all the controls and connectors. The top of the handset has ports for USB and SD media plus a 3.5mm auxiliary (aux) line input, so you can play back audio files or connect an external source. There is also an integral record function that captures a speech message of up to 120 seconds and plays it back on a loop, which is handy for repeated announcements without holding the mic. Siren and whistle alerts sit on their own push buttons for quick access.

The built-in Bluetooth receiver lets you connect a smartphone wirelessly for audio playback, or use the phone as a remote microphone through one of the available Bluetooth microphone apps. The body is moulded ABS with a metal bracket, rated IP66 against dust and water, and the whole unit weighs 2.14kg. The power lead runs to 5m and the microphone lead to 4m. It works well as a temporary fit for events and patrols, or as a permanent installation for public address or alerts.
