Description
The Adastra PS50-B is a two-way pendant speaker built for rooms with high ceilings, where a standard flush-mounted ceiling speaker would sit too far from listeners to work well. It hangs from the ceiling on a supplied cable, bringing the sound closer to head height and giving you clearer, more even coverage across the floor below. The spheroid housing helps spread sound over a wide angle, so you need fewer units to fill an open space.
Each speaker comes with 4.5m of cable and a cable hook for hanging, so you can get it up and running without sourcing extra parts. On top there is a rotary switch for selecting one of four 100V line tappings, plus an 8 ohm option for low-impedance use. The 100V line setup (sometimes called 70V or constant-voltage in the US) lets you run long cable routes and connect several speakers to a single amplifier, which suits shops, cafes, atriums and other commercial areas.
The 12.5cm (5") driver measures the internal speaker cone, and the black finish helps the unit blend in against darker ceilings or industrial spaces. Being able to switch the power tapping at the speaker means you can balance volume between different zones without changing the amplifier settings. If you need a matching option for lighter interiors, this model is also offered in white. The PS50-B is a practical choice where mounting height and simple, flexible wiring matter most.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between 100V line and 8 ohm operation?
100V line lets you connect many speakers to one amplifier over long cable runs, which is handy for large commercial areas. The 8 ohm option suits smaller setups wired directly to a standard amplifier. The rotary switch on top lets you choose whichever fits your system.
Why choose a pendant speaker over a ceiling speaker?
Pendant speakers hang down from the ceiling, so they work well in rooms with high ceilings where a flush ceiling speaker would be too far from listeners to deliver clear, even sound. They bring the audio closer to head height.
Does the PS50-B come with cable for hanging?
Yes. Each speaker is supplied with 4.5m of cable and a cable hook, so you can hang it straight from the ceiling without buying additional fittings.
How many 100V line tappings does it have?
There are four 100V line power tappings, selectable using the rotary switch on top of the speaker. This lets you set the volume level of each unit to balance different areas.
What size is the driver?
The PS50-B uses a 12.5cm (5") driver in a two-way design, giving wide sound dispersion across the space below it.
Is this speaker available in other colours?
This model is the black version. The PS Series is also offered in white if you need a finish that suits lighter ceilings or interiors.
