Description

The Adastra BH5-B is a pair of 2-way background speakers built for indoor or outdoor use. With an IP44 weather resistant rating, they cope with the odd splash of water and general damp, making them suitable for covered patios, poolside areas, cafes and shop fronts as well as interior spaces. Each speaker pairs an extended low frequency driver with a dome tweeter for full-range sound across music and speech.

The moulded cabinet keeps things compact and efficient, and both speakers come supplied as a pair so you have a matched set ready to install. Wiring is handled through spring terminal connections with a protective cover, which keeps the contacts shielded from the weather. The 8 Ohm impedance suits standard low impedance amplifiers, and the 120 degree dispersion angle spreads sound over a wide area rather than firing in a narrow beam.

Mounting is straightforward thanks to the pan and tilt brackets included with each speaker (called wall mounting brackets in some listings). These adjust laterally and set to various tilt positions, so you can aim each speaker for even coverage across a room or outdoor space. Designed for background music and public address (PA) applications, the BH5-B works well where you need clear, consistent sound without a bulky setup. The black finish keeps them discreet against most walls and eaves.

Yes. They carry an IP44 rating, so they resist splashing water and general damp. We would still fit them under some cover, such as an eave or canopy, rather than in fully exposed positions.

What amplifier do I need?
