What track spotlights do

Track spotlights are adjustable heads that clip onto a powered track, so you can aim light exactly where it is wanted and move the heads along the run later. This makes them a flexible way to light kitchens, halls and living rooms, and to pick out worktops, artwork or display areas. The range covers single-phase and magnetic versions to suit different track systems.

Output and beams

Most heads use integrated LED in warm white 3000K or cool white 4000K, with a few GU10 options that take a replaceable lamp. Many are dimmable, and beams range from narrow for tight accenting to wide for general coverage, so you can mix tighter and broader heads along one track to balance focused and fill light.

Finishes and styles

Finishes run black, white and gold, with matt black and graphite among the options, leaning modern and industrial in feel. Heads can be combined along a track to balance accent and fill light, and the look can be kept consistent by matching finishes across the run. Keeping to one finish across the heads and track gives a tidy result, while mixing tones can pick out a particular zone.

Where they are used

The range suits commercial settings and studies as well as kitchens, halls and living rooms. Rated IP20, these spotlights are intended for indoor use. They work well over islands and worktops, along hallways, and across retail and display areas where the focus may need to shift.

Fitting and placement

Match the head to your track type, whether single-phase or magnetic, as these are not interchangeable. Position heads so the light lands on the surface or object rather than glaring back at the room, and leave a little space to angle each head. Track and wiring should be installed by a qualified electrician. Free UK delivery over £99, worldwide shipping.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between single-phase, three-phase and magnetic track spotlights?

Single-phase suits a simple run on one circuit, three-phase lets you switch separate groups on one track, and magnetic heads clip onto a low-voltage magnetic track. Each spotlight states the system it is made for, so match it to your track.

Are these LED or do they take a bulb?

Most have integrated LED built in, rated by wattage rather than a replaceable bulb. A small number use GU10 lamps you can swap. The product page shows which type each head is.

Can I dim them?

Around half the range is dimmable, including 1-10V versions. Pair a dimmable head with a compatible dimmer or driver, and check the listing, as the integrated LED heads are not all dimmable.

Warm white or cool white?

Both are stocked. Warm white at 3000K gives a softer, cosier light for living rooms and dining areas, while cool white at 4000K is crisper for kitchens, studies and task areas. The colour temperature is listed on each head.

Can I angle the spotlights?

Yes. The heads tilt and rotate on the track so you can direct light onto a worktop, artwork or a reading corner. Wider beams cover a broader area, while narrow beams pick out a single spot, including ceiling spotlights aimed down a hall.
