Incandescent Light Bulbs

Incandescent bulbs still earn their place in the spots where LED is not the obvious answer. Our range covers the small-cap warm-white lamps that keep working inside fridges, ovens and small appliances, plus night lights and special-purpose lamps. Most carry the Eveready name, with Energizer options alongside, all in warm tones from 1950K up to 3000K.

Where incandescent bulbs still make sense

Heat and tight spaces are where these lamps come into their own. We stock Eveready oven bulbs rated to withstand 300°C, in 15W, 25W and 40W, for the kind of high-temperature pocket an LED is not built for. Fridge bulbs sit at the other end: 15W lamps in E14 (SES) and B15 (SBC) caps, in warm white at 2800K or 3000K. Pygmy and appliance bulbs in 15W and 25W suit sewing machines, salt lamps and other small fittings, while 7W C7 night lights at 2200K give a soft glow for landings and bedrooms. Many of these lamps put out under 300 lumens, so they light a confined space without dazzling. Every bulb in this range is non-dimmable.

Cap fittings and warm colour

Matching the cap matters more than anything else. Our range runs across E14 small Edison screw, B15 small bayonet, B22 bayonet, E27 Edison screw and E12 candelabra screw, so you can replace like for like. Colour stays warm throughout, with most lamps at 2800K or 3000K, plus 2700K options and 2200K for night lights. For a deeper amber, red Eveready Fireglow lamps run at 1950K in 40W and 60W. If you want the warm look of a filament with lower running cost, we also list a 2W Energizer LED pygmy filament bulb in E14.

Special-purpose and appliance lamps

Some jobs need a specific lamp rather than a general-purpose one. We stock 250W Eveready infrared heater bulbs in E27, in both red glass and warm white, and a 30W R39 reflector bulb in E14 sized for lava lamps. These are designed for a single task, so check the wattage, cap and shape called for by your appliance before ordering. Where a fitting is hard to access, it is worth keeping a spare on hand. For fixed wiring or any installation beyond a simple bulb swap, we recommend a qualified electrician.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why would I still buy an incandescent bulb instead of LED?

A few fittings still call for them. Oven bulbs need to cope with heat that would damage an LED, fridge and appliance lamps fit small enclosed spaces, and special-purpose lamps such as lava lamp reflectors and infrared heater bulbs do a specific job. We stock these because they remain the right answer for those uses, alongside warm-white night lights and pygmy bulbs for small fittings.

Which cap fitting do I need?

Check the cap on your old bulb or in the appliance manual. Our range covers E14 small Edison screw, E12 candelabra screw, E27 Edison screw, B15 small bayonet and B22 bayonet. Screw caps twist in, bayonet caps push and turn. Replacing like for like is the simplest route, so match both the cap type and the wattage to what the fitting was designed to take.

Can I use an ordinary bulb inside an oven?

No. Ovens need a lamp built to withstand high temperatures. We stock Eveready oven bulbs rated to 300°C in 15W, 25W and 40W, all on the E14 small Edison screw cap. A standard pygmy or fridge bulb is not made for that heat, so always fit a bulb specified as oven-rated and matched to your appliance's cap and wattage.

What colour of light do these bulbs give?

Warm light throughout. Most lamps sit at 2800K or 3000K, with some 2700K options for a softer feel. Night light bulbs run warmer still at 2200K, and the red Eveready Fireglow lamps give a deep amber glow at 1950K. None of these bulbs is dimmable, so they hold a steady warm tone rather than shifting colour as you would with a dimmed filament.
