Description

The Knightsbridge Torlan is a 2ft (653mm) LED batten with selectable 14W or 26W output, user-switchable colour temperature (3000K/4000K/5700K), IP65 weatherproof rating, IK08 impact rating, and integrated 3-hour emergency backup. The housing is moulded from anti-corrosive polycarbonate with a grey finish and uses stainless steel diffuser clips rather than plastic fasteners that degrade in outdoor applications.

Designed for commercial, industrial, agricultural and outdoor environments where traditional fluorescent battens would corrode or fail under moisture and impact, the Torlan suits workshops, warehouses, livestock barns, external loading bays, car parks, plant rooms and marine installations. Surface mounting is standard; suspension mounting requires an optional accessory kit. The internal CCT and wattage switches allow one SKU to replace six variants (3 colour temperatures × 2 wattages), reducing stock complexity for installers and eliminating the need to order a specific variant for each application.

At 14W the batten outputs 2,100lm at 4000K (150lm/W), suitable for general circulation, storage and low-occupancy work areas. At 26W it outputs 3,955lm at 4000K (152lm/W), suitable for active workspaces, vehicle inspection and retail stockrooms. Emergency mode delivers 315lm for 3 hours via an internal LiFePO4 battery, configurable as maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency operation. The SMD LED light source carries a 60,000-hour L70B50 rating and a 5-year warranty (battery excluded). The opal polycarbonate diffuser gives a 130-degree beam spread with CRI >85.

How do I switch between 14W and 26W or change the colour temperature?

The batten has internal DIP switches accessed by removing the diffuser. One set selects wattage (14W or 26W), another selects CCT (3000K, 4000K or 5700K). Settings are adjusted on installation before final wiring and diffuser refitting. See the Product Specification Sheet for the exact switch positions.

What's the difference between maintained, non-maintained and switched emergency modes?

Maintained emergency keeps the batten lit continuously on mains power and switches to battery backup during a power cut. Non-maintained keeps the batten off until a power cut triggers battery backup. Switched emergency allows the batten to be controlled by a wall switch on mains power but triggers battery backup during a power cut. The mode is selected via internal wiring configuration during installation.

Can it be used outdoors year-round?

Yes. The IP65 rating protects against rain, hose-down and external moisture. The polycarbonate housing resists UV degradation and salt corrosion. The IK08 impact rating withstands accidental knocks in loading bays, barns and vehicle access routes.

Does it require a separate driver or is everything integrated?

The constant-current LED driver, emergency battery and control circuitry are all integrated inside the housing. No external driver or ballast is needed — just mains wiring to the batten terminals.
