The AV:Link USB 3.0 Type-A to Type-C OTG adaptor converts a USB 3.0 Type-A socket into a USB Type-C plug, supporting data transfer rates up to 5Gbps. The adaptor measures 31 x 15 x 7mm and weighs 4g, making it small enough to keep attached to a cable or in a laptop bag without adding bulk.

Designed for on-the-go sync and charge applications, the adaptor allows USB-A peripherals (flash drives, keyboards, mice, external hard drives) to connect to devices with USB-C ports such as modern laptops, tablets and smartphones. The plug-and-play operation requires no drivers or software installation on Windows, macOS, Linux or Android systems.

The USB 3.0 specification supports backward compatibility with USB 2.0 devices, though transfer speeds will be limited to the slower device's maximum rate. The compact form factor means the adaptor sits close to the port without placing twisting stress on the USB-C socket, reducing the risk of port damage compared to longer or heavier adapters.

Yes. The adaptor supports both sync and charge applications, allowing USB-A charging cables to connect to USB-C devices. Charging speed depends on the power output of the USB-A source and the device being charged.

Is it compatible with USB 2.0 devices?

Yes. The USB 3.0 specification is backward compatible with USB 2.0. If you connect a USB 2.0 device through this adaptor, the transfer speed will be limited to USB 2.0's maximum of 480Mbps rather than the 5Gbps the adaptor supports.

Will this work with all USB-C devices?

The adaptor works with any device that has a USB-C port supporting USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 protocols. It does not support video output (DisplayPort Alt Mode) or Thunderbolt protocols.
