Description

The Calipso is a vertical LED wall sconce built from two fluted white aluminium tubes of different heights mounted on a triangular white wall bracket. An integrated 24W 2700K LED inside each tube delivers 1630 lumens combined, with light projected downward from the open ends of both tubes and a subtle upward glow along the fluted surfaces.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, foyers and bedroom walls where vertical architectural accent lighting is needed, the Calipso provides both functional illumination and decorative visual interest. The taller tube reaches approximately 900mm, the shorter around 600mm, creating an asymmetric composition that works well on walls with 2.4m or higher ceilings. The 36-degree beam angle concentrates light downward, making the fitting particularly effective for highlighting wall textures, artwork or flooring below.

The fluted detailing on the aluminium tubes catches and reflects ambient light during the day, adding texture to the wall even when the LED is off. The white powder-coated finish integrates cleanly with white or light-coloured walls while maintaining definition against darker backgrounds. At 90 CRI, the warm 2700K output renders colours accurately, making the fitting suitable for spaces where art or decorative objects need true-to-life illumination.

The fitting is rated IP20 for indoor dry locations only. It is not dimmable and operates on standard 220-240V 50Hz AC mains. The wall bracket is pre-wired and the LED is integrated, so no separate bulbs are required.

Is this dimmable?

No. The integrated 24W LED operates at full brightness only and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

What height wall does it suit?

The asymmetric tube design works best on walls with 2.4m or higher ceilings. The taller tube reaches approximately 900mm from the wall bracket, so lower ceilings may make the composition feel cramped.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones where water contact or high humidity is present.

Does the light shine upward or downward?

Primarily downward. Light is projected from the open ends of both tubes at a 36-degree beam angle, with a secondary upward glow diffusing through the fluted aluminium surfaces.
