Description

The Albatre alabaster wall sconce pairs a horizontal slot of natural alabaster with a brushed brass frame, housing an integrated 8W LED that produces 150 lumens at 3000K through the translucent stone. The alabaster panel measures approximately 300mm wide and sits within a shallow brass housing that projects 60-80mm from the wall, allowing the LED to shine through the stone rather than around it.

Designed for corridors, hallways, bedroom accent walls and bathrooms outside wet zones, the fitting provides soft wash lighting rather than focused task light. The 180-degree beam angle distributes light evenly across the wall surface above and below the fitting, creating a halo effect on plain painted or textured walls. The brass trim complements warm-toned and traditional interiors, and the low 8W output suits installations where multiple fittings are spaced along a corridor or stairwell.

The alabaster panel is cut from natural stone, so each fitting shows different mineral veining and tonal variation when lit. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior zones away from direct water exposure. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated at 90 CRI, giving accurate colour rendering for interior spaces. The brass finish is applied to the metal housing and will develop a patina over time unless polished.

Is this wall light dimmable?

No. The integrated 8W LED is non-dimmable and runs at full output on standard 220-240V mains power.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior zones. It can be installed in a bathroom away from showers, baths and basins, typically at a distance of 600mm or more from water sources. It is not suitable for zones 1 or 2 directly above or near baths and showers.

Does the alabaster vary between fittings?

Yes. Each alabaster panel is cut from natural stone, so the veining, translucency and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is characteristic of the material and not a defect.

What mounting surface is needed?

The fitting mounts to a standard UK wall back box or directly to solid masonry, plasterboard or timber stud walls with appropriate fixings. The shallow projection of 60-80mm suits most wall surfaces without needing additional clearance.
