Description

The Basic Texture is an 8W LED wall sconce housed in a black metal rectangular body that casts light across a 180° horizontal beam angle. The integrated LED delivers between 474-526 lumens depending on the colour temperature selected (2700K, 3000K or 4000K), and runs on 220-240V AC mains without dimmer compatibility.

Designed for corridor lighting, stairwell illumination and architectural accent applications in residential and commercial interiors, the fixture mounts directly to a standard UK back box and spreads light evenly along the wall surface. The 180° beam creates wash lighting rather than focused spots, reducing harsh shadows and providing ambient wayfinding light in circulation spaces. The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor areas only.

The black metal finish is powder-coated to a matt surface that resists fingerprints and pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist interior schemes. The rectangular profile measures approximately 200mm wide and sits 50mm proud of the wall once mounted, making it suitable for hallways and landings where a low-projection fitting is needed. The 80 CRI rating provides acceptable colour rendering for general circulation lighting but is not calibrated for colour-critical applications like art galleries or retail display.

What colour temperature does it produce?

The Basic Texture is available with three colour temperature options: 2700K (warm white), 3000K (neutral white) or 4000K (cool white). The colour temperature is fixed at manufacture and cannot be changed after installation. Check the specific variant you're ordering to confirm which colour temperature is supplied.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor areas. For bathroom installation, an IP44-rated or higher fitting is required.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimmer switches. Connecting this fitting to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering, buzzing or permanent damage to the driver.

What is the beam angle used for?

The 180° beam angle means the light spreads horizontally along the wall in both directions from the fitting, creating wash lighting rather than a focused spot. This makes it suitable for corridor and stairwell applications where even ambient light is needed rather than task lighting.
