Description

The Basic Texture is an 8W LED wall sconce housed in a black metal rectangular profile, delivering 473-522 lumens through a 180° beam angle. The fitting includes a colour temperature switching function allowing selection between 2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white and 4000K cool white, toggled via the wall switch during installation or via multiple switch presses after installation.

Designed for corridor, stairwell, bedroom and hallway lighting where wall-mounted fixtures provide ambient or accent light without occupying floor or ceiling space, the Basic Texture mounts horizontally on the wall with its light output directed upward and downward in equal measure. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations away from bathrooms or external walls exposed to weather. The 8W LED is integrated and non-replaceable, rated for 50Hz AC 220-240V mains supply.

The black metal body measures approximately 200mm wide and projects 50-60mm from the wall when mounted, giving a low-profile presence that works in both contemporary and minimalist interiors. The rectangular form and matt black finish pair well with modern switches, door furniture and architectural trim where a cohesive black accent is preferred. The 80 CRI rating provides adequate colour rendering for general circulation areas, though task lighting applications requiring higher CRI may need supplementary sources.

How do you change the colour temperature?

The Basic Texture includes a switchable driver that cycles between 2700K, 3000K and 4000K each time the wall switch is turned off and on within 3-5 seconds. The setting is retained until changed. Consult the manufacturer's instructions for the specific switching sequence required.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. For bathroom use, an IP44-rated fitting or higher is required depending on zone.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 8W LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for approximately 20,000-30,000 hours of use, equating to 10-15 years at typical domestic usage levels.

What direction does the light project?

The 180° beam angle indicates the light projects both upward and downward from the wall in equal measure, creating a wash effect on the wall surface above and below the fitting. This is typical of modern corridor and accent wall lights.
