Description

The Basic Texture is a 5W LED wall sconce built as a circular disc in matt black metal, housing an integrated LED behind a frosted diffuser. The LED provides a 180° beam angle, casting light both up and down the wall while also projecting forward into the room, making it suitable for ambient and accent applications rather than focused task lighting.

Designed for hallways, staircases, bedroom accent walls and living room alcoves, the Basic Texture mounts flush to the wall with a minimal projection depth. The IP20 rating restricts it to dry indoor environments - it is not suitable for bathrooms, covered outdoor locations or anywhere exposed to moisture. The circular form and 180° spread work well in pairs flanking doorways or spaced at 1.5-2m intervals along a corridor.

The integrated LED outputs between 289 and 318 lumens depending on the colour temperature selected at installation (2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white, or 4000K cool white). The matt black metal finish absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, keeping the fitting visually recessive during the day while the frosted diffuser glows clearly when lit. The LED is not dimmable and draws 5W on 220-240V AC mains.

Is this dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches and draws a fixed 5W on 220-240V mains.

What colour temperature does it produce?

The Basic Texture provides a selectable colour temperature - 2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white, or 4000K cool white. The selection is typically made via a switch on the fitting during installation. Once set, it remains at that colour temperature.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means it has no moisture protection and is suitable only for dry indoor environments. Bathrooms require at minimum IP44 (IP65 in shower zones).

What is the beam pattern?

The 180° beam angle produces light both upward and downward along the wall surface, as well as forward into the room. This creates a wash of ambient light rather than a focused spot, making it suitable for accent and general illumination rather than task lighting.
