Description

The Ullswater cushion brings a meadow of embroidered blooms across a soft natural cotton ground. Wildflowers, thistles and seed heads are worked in raised stitch and looped detail, sitting side by side in shades of dusky pink, ochre, plum and muted green. The tonal contrast against the oatmeal base keeps the design grounded rather than busy, so it settles happily into most rooms.

A slim raspberry-toned border frames two edges, tying the palette together and adding a neat finish to the rectangular shape. The generous 600 by 350mm size makes it a comfortable lumbar cushion for a sofa or reading chair, and the feather filling gives it plenty of give while holding its form. Because so much of the surface is hand-worked embroidery, each cushion carries small variations in texture and stitch density.
