Description

This track lighting rail provides a 1m length of low-voltage track for mounting ceiling or wall spotlights, accepting any compatible 48V AC track heads that clip into the copper conductors running inside the aluminium channel. The white finish on the extruded aluminium profile suits white and light-toned ceilings in residential, retail and hospitality settings where adjustable accent or task lighting is needed.

Track lighting systems allow multiple spotlight heads to be positioned anywhere along the rail length and repositioned without re-wiring, making them suited to kitchens where task light needs to follow worktop layout, living rooms where wall art or shelving changes over time, and retail displays where product positions shift. The 48V low-voltage system reduces shock risk compared to mains-voltage track and allows slimmer cable runs inside the rail profile.

The aluminium extrusion measures approximately 40mm wide by 30mm deep and can be surface-mounted to a ceiling or wall using the fixing clips provided, or recessed into a plasterboard ceiling where a recessed profile has been cut. Multiple 1m sections can be joined end-to-end using straight connectors (sold separately) to create longer runs, or combined with corner and T-junction connectors to build L-shaped, U-shaped or grid configurations. The IP20 rating limits this rail to dry indoor use only.

This rail accepts any track spotlight designed for 48V AC low-voltage track systems with the standard clip-in connector. produces a range of compatible heads in various finishes and beam angles. Check that the head is rated for 48V AC before purchase.

Can multiple rails be joined together?

Yes. Multiple 1m sections can be connected end-to-end using straight track connectors, or combined with corner and T-junction connectors to build L-shaped, U-shaped or grid layouts. Connectors are sold separately.

Is the rail suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the rail is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor environments. For bathrooms or other damp locations, an IP44-rated track system is required.

How is the rail powered?

The 48V AC track requires a mains-to-48V transformer (sold separately) installed between the mains supply and the track. The transformer typically mounts in the ceiling void or on the wall near the track's start point.
