Description

This track system extension rod provides a 156mm vertical drop between a ceiling-mounted track and the track head spotlight or pendant fitting. The rod is machined from aluminium with a matt black powder-coated finish, fitting into the standard single-circuit track system via a twist-lock connector at the top and accepting any compatible track head at the lower socket.

Extension rods suit installations where ceiling height allows the track light to be dropped closer to a work surface, display shelf, or artwork - typically in retail spaces, galleries, or domestic kitchens with ceiling heights above 2.7m. The rod shifts the effective light source 156mm lower without changing the track position, giving directional control over higher shelves, counters, or wall displays without angling the spotlight excessively.

The aluminium construction keeps the weight below 100g, so a standard track head can support the extended drop without additional bracing. The matt black finish matches other components in the track range, including track sections, end caps, connectors and track heads. The rod accepts standard track heads rated up to 50W, though actual compatibility depends on the specific track head model and its own weight rating.

The rod fits single-circuit track systems using the standard twist-lock connector. It is not compatible with three-circuit or other manufacturers' track systems unless they share the same connector profile.

Can multiple extension rods be stacked?

No. The rod is designed as a single-stage drop between the track and the track head. Stacking multiple rods would compromise electrical contact and mechanical stability.

What track heads can be fitted to the lower socket?

Any track head rated for the same single-circuit track system will fit the lower socket, provided the combined weight of rod and head does not exceed the track's load rating. Heavier track heads may require confirmation with technical support before use.

Is the rod suitable for sloped ceilings?

The rod maintains a vertical drop. On sloped ceilings, the track head will still hang vertically from the rod, but the overall angle relative to the ceiling will follow the slope. For angled ceilings, adjustable track heads may provide better directional control.
