Description

The Tenity recessed aluminium track profile is a matt black extruded aluminium channel designed for flush installation into plasterboard or suspended ceilings, allowing track lighting heads to sit level with the ceiling surface rather than surface-mounted below it. The profile accepts track heads and rail connectors, creating a continuous recessed track run for directional accent lighting or task lighting.

Designed for retail, gallery, hospitality and residential spaces where visible surface-mounted track would disrupt the ceiling plane, the recessed profile requires a cavity depth of approximately 50-60mm above the ceiling line for installation. Once fitted and plastered around, only the narrow slot aperture remains visible, with track heads clipping into the slot from below. The system allows heads to be repositioned along the track without re-wiring, giving flexibility to change lighting layouts as furniture or artwork moves.

The matt black anodised finish on the aluminium provides a clean, non-reflective edge to the recessed slot and pairs with both contemporary and industrial interiors. The extruded aluminium construction dissipates heat from track heads effectively, preventing hot spots in the ceiling void. Track sections can be cut to length on site and joined end-to-end using rail connectors (sold separately) to create continuous runs up to 3m or longer depending on the power supply specification.

Frequently Asked

What cavity depth is needed above the ceiling?

A minimum 50-60mm cavity depth above the ceiling line is typically required to accommodate the profile and allow clearance for wiring and track head fixing clips. Check the exact profile depth in the Specification section before cutting ceiling apertures.

Can track heads be moved once installed?

Yes. track heads clip into the recessed slot and can be slid along the track or removed and repositioned without disconnecting the track power supply. This allows lighting layouts to be adjusted as room layouts change.

How are sections joined together?

Track sections are joined end-to-end using rail connectors and power feeds (sold separately). The connectors fit inside the profile and maintain electrical continuity between sections, allowing continuous track runs longer than a single profile length.

What track heads are compatible?

The profile accepts track heads designed for their recessed track system. Check that heads specify compatibility with recessed profiles rather than surface-mounted track before ordering. Not all track heads fit both systems.
