Description

The Calipso is a single-head track spotlight with a cylindrical white aluminium housing featuring vertical ridges running the length of the body. The head pivots on a rotating mount fixed to a rectangular track adaptor plate, allowing the light to be angled and directed once installed on a track rail. The spotlight takes one GU10 bulb up to 10W (sold separately) and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use.

Designed for retail displays, gallery walls, kitchen worktops and feature lighting in living spaces, the Calipso fits standard single-circuit track systems. The track adaptor allows the spotlight to be positioned anywhere along the rail and rotated through 360 degrees horizontally, while the head itself tilts to direct light onto specific surfaces or objects. Multiple spotlights can be fitted to a single track run to create layered accent lighting.

The white aluminium body keeps the fitting lightweight at under 200g while the vertical ridging adds both grip when adjusting the angle and a textured finish that reduces visible fingerprints. The cylindrical housing measures approximately 120mm in length with a 70mm diameter, proportioned to work on 1-2m track runs without dominating the ceiling line. The white finish pairs with both neutral and coloured interiors, and recedes visually against white ceilings.

What bulb does it take?

The spotlight takes one GU10 bulb up to 10W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED GU10 between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for accent lighting, or a cooler 4000K daylight temperature for task lighting over kitchen worktops.

Is it compatible with all track systems?

The Calipso fits standard single-circuit track rails. Check that your existing track system uses the same adaptor profile before ordering. track components are designed to work together as a system.

Can the spotlight be dimmed?

The fitting itself is not dimmable. Dimming depends on pairing a dimmable GU10 bulb with a compatible dimmer switch controlling the track circuit. Without both a dimmable bulb and dimmer, the spotlight operates at full brightness only.

How is the angle adjusted?

The head tilts on a friction joint at the mount. To adjust, grip the ridged housing and tilt to the desired angle. The joint holds position under the weight of the fitting but can be re-angled at any time.
