Basis LED Track Light 12W 3000K - Black

The Basis is a 12W LED track luminaire housed in a black aluminium linear body, delivering 460 lumens at 3000K warm white through a 110° beam angle. The fitting runs on DC 24V track systems and provides 90 CRI colour rendering, making it suitable for retail displays, gallery walls and task lighting where accurate colour perception matters.

Designed for installation on compatible track systems rather than ceiling mounting, the Basis can be positioned and repositioned along the track run to direct light where needed. The 110° beam angle provides wide coverage without creating harsh shadows, making it effective for illuminating wall-mounted art, retail shelving, kitchen worktops or display cabinets. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments.

The black aluminium housing runs approximately 120mm in length with a low-profile rectangular section that minimises visual intrusion when mounted on a ceiling or wall track. The 3000K colour temperature provides warm white light that sits comfortably in residential settings and hospitality environments without the clinical tone of cooler LEDs. The 90 CRI rating ensures colours appear true to life under the light, which is particularly important when lighting artwork, clothing displays or food preparation areas.

The fitting is not dimmable and requires a DC 24V track system for operation. Multiple Basis units can be positioned along a single track run to build up light levels where needed, with each unit drawing 12W from the track power supply.

What track system does this fit?

The Basis requires a DC 24V track system. It will not fit standard mains-voltage track systems or single-circuit tracks running at 230V. Check your existing track specification before ordering, or contact us to confirm compatibility.

Is this dimmable?

No. The integrated 12W LED is not dimmable and will operate at full output whenever the track system is powered on.

What is the 90 CRI rating?

CRI (Colour Rendering Index) measures how accurately colours appear under a light source compared to natural daylight. A CRI of 90 is considered high and means colours will look true to life, which is important for retail displays, artwork and food preparation areas. Standard LEDs often sit at 80 CRI or lower.

Can this be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor environments only and has no protection against moisture or water ingress. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or any outdoor location.
