Description
The Basis Rot is a 12W track light with a linear aluminium body finished in matt black, designed to run on 48V AC track systems. The integrated LED produces a 120° beam angle, providing wide ambient coverage rather than focused spotlighting, making it suitable for general illumination along track runs in living rooms, kitchens, galleries and retail spaces.
The luminaire clips directly onto compatible 48V track rails without tools, allowing repositioning along the track run as lighting needs change. The dimmable driver responds to compatible 48V track dimmer systems, enabling light levels to be adjusted from full output down to low ambient levels. The IP20 rating confines use to dry interior environments - not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor areas or damp locations.
The black aluminium housing measures approximately 300mm in length with a low-profile rectangular cross-section that keeps the fitting visually recessive when mounted on ceiling track. The matt black finish absorbs reflections and pairs with modern, industrial and minimalist interiors where the track system itself is intended to remain visible as part of the design. The 12W output provides approximately 1,000-1,200 lumens depending on colour temperature, comparable to a traditional 75-100W incandescent bulb spread across the 120° beam.

Frequently Asked
What track system does this fit?
The Basis Rot is designed for 48V AC track systems. It will not fit standard mains-voltage single-circuit track or incompatible low-voltage systems. Confirm your existing track operates on 48V AC before ordering.
Is the LED replaceable?
The LED is integrated into the luminaire and is not user-replaceable. The fitting is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10 years at 8 hours per day.
Can it be used in a kitchen?
Yes, provided the kitchen is a standard dry domestic environment. The IP20 rating means the luminaire is not protected against moisture ingress, so it should be kept away from direct steam exposure above hobs or sinks.
How is dimming controlled?
Dimming is controlled at the track power supply level via a compatible 48V dimmer system, not at the individual luminaire. All lights on the same dimmed track circuit will dim together.
