Description

The Basis is a 24W LED track luminaire built into a black aluminium linear housing, designed for installation on 48V AC track systems. The integrated LED delivers a 120° wide beam angle, making it suitable for general ambient lighting across larger spaces rather than tight spotlight applications. The unit is dimmable when paired with compatible 48V dimming controls.

Designed for commercial retail, hospitality and residential open-plan spaces where continuous linear light runs are needed without visible bulbs or fittings. The recessed linear profile sits flush or near-flush within the track mounting system, giving a cleaner ceiling line than traditional adjustable spotlight heads. The 48V low-voltage system requires a compatible track power supply (sold separately) and allows multiple luminaires to be daisy-chained on the same run.

The black aluminium housing provides both structural rigidity and heat dissipation for the LED driver and light engine. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments - this is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations. The 24W output and 120° beam spread make the luminaire appropriate for spaces requiring diffuse overhead light rather than accent lighting, and the black finish integrates into dark ceilings or contrasts against white for architectural definition.

What track system is this compatible with?

The Basis is designed for 's 48V AC track system. It will not fit standard UK 230V mains track rails or other manufacturer's proprietary systems. A compatible 48V track power supply and rail are required (sold separately).

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, the luminaire is dimmable when paired with a compatible 48V dimmer control on the track system. Standard 230V household dimmers will not work - dimming control must be on the 48V side of the power supply.

What's the beam angle used for?

The 120° wide beam provides general ambient light across a broad area rather than focused accent lighting. This makes the luminaire suitable for open-plan rooms, corridors and retail floors where even light distribution is needed without hotspots.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only. Bathrooms, kitchens with steam exposure and outdoor areas require higher IP-rated fittings.
