Description

The Basis is a 12W LED track luminaire housed in a low-profile black aluminium body, designed for 48V AC track systems. The integrated LED throws a 120° beam angle, providing wide-angle illumination suitable for retail displays, gallery walls, commercial corridors and architectural lighting schemes where multiple fittings run on a shared track rail.

The luminaire is dimmable when paired with compatible 48V AC dimmers, allowing light levels to be adjusted for different times of day or display requirements. The black aluminium housing measures approximately 1000mm in length and sits flush to the track rail, making it suitable for installations where the fitting needs to blend into the ceiling plane rather than project downward. The 48V AC track system operates at low voltage for safety in commercial and public environments.

The aluminium construction provides effective heat dissipation from the integrated LED while keeping the fitting lightweight enough for track mounting without additional structural support. The matt black powder-coated finish absorbs reflections under ambient light and pairs with black track rails for a continuous linear appearance. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor environments only.

What track system does this fit?

This luminaire is designed for 48V AC track systems. It will not fit standard 230V mains track rails. Confirm your track voltage and profile before ordering to ensure compatibility.

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED is dimmable when used with a compatible 48V AC dimmer. The dimmer must be rated for the combined wattage of all luminaires on the track circuit.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor environments only. It is not protected against moisture ingress and must not be used in bathrooms, kitchens with heavy steam, or outdoor locations.

What is the beam angle used for?

The 120° beam angle provides wide, diffuse light coverage across a broad area. This makes the fitting suitable for general illumination along corridors or retail spaces, rather than narrow spotlighting of individual objects.
