Description

The Basis is a track-mounted LED luminaire with an integrated 12W LED producing 800 lumens at 2700K warm white. The black aluminium body houses the LED driver and optics, emitting light through a 120° beam angle that provides broad wash coverage rather than narrow spotlighting. The fitting operates on 48V AC track systems and is designed for recessed or surface-mounted track rails.

Designed for retail display lighting, gallery walls, kitchen worktop task lighting and corridor accent lighting, the Basis offers directional control without the need for separate bulbs or lamp changes. The luminaire rotates and tilts on the track adapter, allowing the beam to be angled onto artwork, merchandise, or architectural features. The 48V low-voltage system means multiple fittings can be run on a single track rail without approaching domestic circuit limits.

The black powder-coated aluminium body dissipates heat efficiently without fan noise, and the 90 CRI rating renders colours accurately under the warm-white light - particularly useful for textile displays, food retail, and residential spaces where colour fidelity matters. The non-dimmable LED driver simplifies installation but means brightness cannot be adjusted after fitting. The IP20 rating restricts the luminaire to dry indoor locations only.

The Basis measures approximately 12cm in length and projects roughly 6cm from the track rail when fitted, making it a relatively compact fitting for standard domestic ceiling heights. The track adapter clips onto 48V track rail profiles, which are sold separately and available in various lengths.

The Basis fits 48V track rail systems. The adapter clips onto the rail profile and locks into place, allowing the luminaire to be positioned anywhere along the track. track rails are sold separately.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable, so the light output remains constant at 800 lumens when powered on. If dimming is required, consider installing a dimmable track system driver upstream of the rail.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is only suitable for dry indoor locations away from direct water contact. It cannot be installed in bathroom zones or outdoor locations.

What's the colour rendering like at 2700K?

The 90 CRI rating means the warm-white light renders colours accurately, making it suitable for retail displays, artwork, and residential spaces where natural colour appearance matters. The 2700K temperature gives a warm, slightly yellow-toned white similar to traditional incandescent bulbs.
