Description

The Scala is a table lamp built around two tiers of ribbed glass cylinders stacked on a single antique bronze stem and circular base. Each glass tier houses an integrated 12W LED light source, collectively delivering 1300 lumens at 3000K warm white. The vertical ribbing in the glass creates prismatic light scatter, diffusing the LED output across surrounding surfaces rather than projecting a focused beam.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and occasional surfaces in living rooms and bedrooms, the lamp provides ambient rather than task lighting. The two-tier configuration spreads light both upward and horizontally, filling a 3-4m room with soft background illumination. The lamp stands approximately 450mm tall with a base diameter of around 200mm, making it suitable for tables and surfaces where a compact footprint is needed without sacrificing presence.

The antique bronze finish on the metal stem and base offers a warm, slightly oxidised tone that pairs with traditional, transitional and warmer contemporary interiors. The ribbed glass tiers add a decorative element when the lamp is switched off, catching daylight through the vertical grooves. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and operates on standard 220-240V UK mains supply with an inline rocker switch on the black fabric cable.

No. The integrated 12W LED operates on full brightness only and is not compatible with dimmer switches. The lamp uses an inline rocker switch on the cable for on/off control.

What colour is the light output?

The LED provides 3000K warm white light, which reads as a soft yellow-white tone similar to traditional incandescent bulbs. This is warmer than daylight-temperature LEDs and suits residential settings where a cosy ambient feel is preferred.

Can the glass tiers be cleaned?

Yes. The ribbed glass can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth, either dry or slightly dampened with water. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the glass as liquid may run into the fitting's internal components.

1300 lumens provides ambient background lighting for a 3-4m bedroom or living room. It is not bright enough to serve as the sole light source in a larger room or for task-focused activities like reading at close range.
