Description

The Antic arch pendant suspends four ribbed smoke glass shades from two intersecting brass arcs, supported by a 1000mm brass bar canopy. Each shade hangs from a solid brass sphere set at the arc's base, with the cable concealed within the curved brass tubing. The four E27 bulb holders sit inside the smoke glass cylinders, which are open at the bottom to allow downward light projection.

Designed for dining tables and kitchen islands between 1800-2400mm in length, the pendant provides four zones of direct downlight across the surface below. The two arcs intersect at the centre, creating visual interest from all viewing angles while keeping the four light sources evenly distributed. The smoke glass softens the bulb glare without fully diffusing the light, making this suitable for task lighting over work surfaces as well as ambient lighting in dining areas. Installation requires a ceiling height of at least 2.4m to allow adequate clearance above head height when seated.

The antique brass finish shows a warmer, slightly aged tone compared to polished or brushed brass, with subtle tonal variation across the metal surface. The ribbed detailing on each smoke glass shade catches and refracts light when the bulbs are on, adding texture to the downward light pattern. Each of the four fittings accepts a standard E27 bulb up to 40W (bulbs sold separately), giving control over colour temperature and brightness by bulb choice. The combined weight of brass frame and glass requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable anchor point.

Each of the four fittings takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining.

What length dining table does it suit?

The 1000mm bar span and four evenly-spaced lights work best over dining tables or kitchen islands between 1800-2400mm in length. The pendant can work on shorter tables but the outer lights may overhang the table edges.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is not supplied with dimming capability. However, if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer, the light output can be controlled. Check bulb and dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the pendant installed?

The brass bar canopy fixes to a standard UK ceiling rose. Due to the combined weight of the brass frame and four glass shades, the ceiling fixing point must be secure to a joist or suitable anchor. Professional installation is recommended.
