Description

The Levitation brass cage pendant light combines a wire cage shade formed from concentric brass ribs with a white glass diffuser set into the base of the cage. The integrated 20W LED sits inside the glass diffuser and casts 500 lumens of warm 3000K light downward, while the brass ribs throw decorative shadow patterns onto walls and ceilings. The cage measures 500mm in diameter and suspends on a black fabric-covered cable from a matching brass ceiling canopy.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room seating areas, the pendant provides both task and ambient light. The white glass diffuser softens the direct LED source, preventing glare when seated beneath the fitting, while the open cage structure allows light to escape upward and sideways. The pendant hangs best 700-800mm above a dining table surface or 900-1000mm above a kitchen island worktop, depending on ceiling height. The black cable is adjustable during installation to set the drop length.

The brass finish on the wire ribs shows a warm metallic tone that suits both modern and traditional interiors. Each rib is 6mm in diameter and spaced approximately 20mm apart, creating a semi-transparent shade that allows visibility through the cage while still providing visual structure. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated at IP20, making this pendant suitable for dry indoor spaces only. The combined brass cage and glass diffuser give the fitting substantial presence without excessive weight, allowing it to be fitted to standard UK ceiling roses.

Is this pendant dimmable?

No. The integrated 20W LED is not compatible with dimmer switches and must be wired to a standard on/off lighting circuit.

What size table does it suit?

The 500mm cage diameter suits dining tables between 1200-1800mm long or kitchen islands of similar length. For larger tables or islands, consider pairing two pendants in a row rather than a single fitting.

Can the brass ribs be cleaned?

Yes. The brass cage can be wiped with a soft dry cloth. For tarnishing or fingerprints, use a brass polish designed for lacquered brass finishes, applied sparingly with a soft cloth and buffed dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners that will scratch the finish.

What is the total drop length?

The cable length is adjustable during installation. The cage itself adds approximately 150mm of height below the canopy, with the remaining drop determined by the cable length you set when fitting.
