Levitation Fabric Pendant Light 258mm - Brass

This pendant light features a brass wirework cage wrapped around an opal glass sphere, suspended on a black fabric cable from a matching brass ceiling rose. The cage follows a vertical rib structure that curves around the glass diffuser, creating an open frame that allows light to pass through while protecting the glass bulb inside. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 40W (sold separately).

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the pendant works as both ambient and decorative lighting. The opal glass diffuses the light source into soft, even illumination without harsh glare, while the brass cage casts shadow patterns onto surrounding walls when lit. The drop length is adjustable during installation by shortening the cable run inside the ceiling rose, allowing the pendant to sit 700-900mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on room height.

The brass finish presents as a warm gold tone that pairs with both traditional and contemporary interiors, and the metal wirework gives the fitting a lighter visual presence than solid metal shades of equivalent size. The opal glass sphere sits at approximately 200mm diameter within the cage, providing sufficient diffusion for a 6-10W LED or 40W filament bulb. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry interior locations only - not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use or damp zones.

The combination of open wirework and enclosed glass gives flexibility in bulb choice: decorative filament bulbs are visible through the cage and can add an additional design element, while standard LED bulbs remain concealed behind the opal glass and deliver purely functional light output.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. The opal glass diffuser works with any E27 bulb type - LED, halogen or decorative filament.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself has no built-in dimming circuitry. Dimming depends entirely on pairing a dimmable E27 LED bulb with a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Standard non-dimmable bulbs will not dim.

Can decorative filament bulbs be used?

Yes. The brass cage is open wirework, so decorative filament bulbs remain visible through the frame and can add a design feature. The opal glass softens the light output but does not block the bulb from view.

What ceiling height is needed?

The cable drop is adjustable during installation. For placement over a kitchen island or dining table, the pendant typically hangs 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of 2.4m or above. Lower ceilings can accommodate the pendant if the cable is shortened during fitting.
