Description

The Levitation wire cage pendant features a bulbous brass frame constructed from vertical wire ribs that taper at both top and bottom, creating a lantern-like profile. A white opal glass diffuser sits inside the brass cage, softening the light from a single E27 bulb (sold separately). The brass canopy and cage are joined by a height-adjustable black fabric cable.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and hallways where both decorative and functional light are needed, the pendant works in spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The open wire construction casts vertical shadow patterns across adjacent walls and ceilings when lit, while the opal glass inside diffuses the light from the bulb to reduce glare. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior locations away from direct water contact.

The brass finish on the wire frame shows a warm metallic tone that complements both traditional and mid-century interiors. The vertical rib construction gives the shade a substantial presence without visual weight, making it suitable for smaller dining areas where a solid shade might overwhelm. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 40W, allowing control over colour temperature and brightness depending on the chosen bulb.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining areas.

Is it dimmable?

The pendant itself is not dimmable. Dimming depends on the bulb chosen - if you install a dimmable E27 LED and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, dimming is possible.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is suitable only for dry interior locations. It cannot be used in bathrooms, outdoors, or anywhere exposed to moisture or direct water contact.

What ceiling height is needed?

The height-adjustable cable allows the pendant to be set at the appropriate drop for your space. For dining tables the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.
