Description

The Basic Texture is a cylindrical pendant light with a black marble-effect metal shade housing an integrated 5W LED light source. The cylinder measures approximately 300mm in length and 60mm in diameter, suspended on a single black fabric-covered cable from a matching black ceiling canopy. The LED casts light both downward through the open base of the cylinder and outward through perforations or translucent sections in the marble-effect surface, creating both directed and ambient light patterns.

Designed for kitchen islands, bar areas, dining tables and hallways where a slim vertical profile suits narrow spaces or clustered installations, the pendant works in contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The marble-effect finish on the metal shade mimics natural stone veining without the weight or fragility of actual marble, giving a premium appearance at under 1kg fitting weight. Multiple pendants can be clustered along a kitchen island or bar to provide even illumination across a 2-3m worktop length.

The integrated LED produces between 413-431 lumens depending on the colour temperature selected at manufacture, with options of 2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white or 4000K cool white. The light is non-dimmable and rated IP20 for dry indoor use only. The 180-degree beam angle and cylindrical form direct most light downward while allowing some ambient wash onto surrounding surfaces. The black finish absorbs rather than reflects light, minimising glare from the fitting itself.

Is this pendant dimmable?

No. The integrated 5W LED is non-dimmable and operates on standard 220-240V mains without requiring a dimmer switch.

What colour temperature does it come in?

The Basic Texture is available in three colour temperatures at manufacture: 2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white, and 4000K cool white. Please confirm the colour temperature with us before ordering if this matters to your installation.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only and must not be installed in bathrooms, kitchens directly above hobs or sinks, or any area subject to moisture or steam.

How many pendants are needed for a kitchen island?

The 413-431 lumen output provides focused task light over approximately 600-800mm of worktop per pendant. For a typical 2-2.5m kitchen island, three pendants spaced evenly would provide adequate coverage for food preparation and dining.
