Description

The Basic Texture Penna is a cylindrical pendant light built around an integrated 5W LED housed within a tall, narrow metal tube finished to resemble natural oak grain. The black metal canopy and fabric-covered cable suspend the cylinder at up to 1500mm drop, with the LED casting downward directional light through the open base of the tube at 360-439 lumens depending on the selected colour temperature (2700K, 3000K or 4000K).

Designed for over dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and narrow console tables where a compact footprint is needed, the Penna provides focused task lighting rather than room-wide ambient fill. The 180° beam angle means most of the light travels downward and outward in a wide cone, with minimal spill upward onto the ceiling. The oak-grain metal finish adds warmth to contemporary, Scandi and minimalist interiors without introducing the maintenance demands of real wood.

The cylinder measures approximately 50mm in diameter and 300mm in height, giving a slender profile that works in multiples along a kitchen island or as a single pendant in compact spaces. The 5W LED is rated at 80 CRI (colour rendering index), which is adequate for general task lighting but lower than the 90+ CRI preferred for colour-critical applications such as food preparation or artwork viewing. The IP20 rating confines use to dry interior locations only.

Can this pendant be dimmed?

No. The integrated 5W LED is non-dimmable. Pairing it with a dimmer switch may cause flickering or damage to the driver circuit.

What colour temperature should I choose?

2700K produces a warm white similar to traditional tungsten bulbs and suits living spaces and bedrooms. 3000K is a neutral warm white often used in kitchens and dining areas. 4000K is a cooler white closer to daylight and typically reserved for task-focused environments such as home offices or workshops.

Is the oak finish real wood?

No. The cylinder is metal with a printed or heat-transfer oak-grain finish applied to the surface. This gives the appearance of wood grain without the vulnerability to moisture, warping or fading that real wood presents in a pendant light application.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry interior locations away from direct water contact.
