Description

The Bergamo pendant light features a 500mm-diameter drum shade formed from a double-layer beige fabric stretched over a matt black metal frame, suspended on a single-stem black cable and canopy. The shade houses five E27 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately), with the light diffused through the fabric layers to create ambient illumination rather than concentrated downlight.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room centre positions, the pendant suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher where the large shade diameter won't dominate the room visually. The 500mm width makes it appropriate for tables 1.2-1.8m long, sitting 700-800mm above the table surface once the cable drop is adjusted on installation. The black metal framework pairs with contemporary, industrial and Scandinavian interiors.

The fabric shade diffuses the light from all five E27 bulbs without creating harsh shadows or glare spots underneath the fitting, making it functional as both general room lighting and task lighting for dining. The double-layer construction gives the shade body and prevents the internal bulb silhouettes showing through when lit. The matt black finish on the metal frame and canopy absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, keeping focus on the warm glow through the fabric.

What bulbs does it take?

The pendant takes five E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to a combined 60W total load. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 5x 6-8W LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light over a dining table.

Is it dimmable?

No. The pendant is not rated for dimmer compatibility. Fitting it to a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage to the control gear.

What size dining table does it suit?

The 500mm shade diameter suits tables between 1.2m and 1.8m long. For larger tables consider two pendants spaced 900mm-1200mm apart, or a wider shade diameter if available in this range.

Can the fabric shade be cleaned?

The beige fabric can be cleaned with a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove dust. For marks, use a barely-damp lint-free cloth with distilled water. Do not use chemical cleaners or saturate the fabric.
