Description

The Bangkok is a single pendant light combining a black metal frame with an amber-tinted dome glass shade and an integrated 12W LED that delivers 1300 lumens at 3000K. The black vertical rod runs through the centre of the fitting, connecting a smaller amber sphere at the top to the main dome shade below. The LED sits inside the dome, directing light downward through the amber glass.

Designed for dining tables, breakfast bars and kitchen islands, the pendant provides focused task light with a 120-degree beam angle. The amber glass softens the white LED output, giving a warmer visual effect than clear glass would. The black ceiling rose and cable suspension suit ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, with the pendant typically hung 700-800mm above the dining surface.

The metal components are powder-coated in matt black, and the amber glass is hand-blown, so minor tonal variation between individual pieces is typical. The integrated LED is rated for 50Hz AC 220-240V mains supply and is not dimmable. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor environments - it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or zones where moisture is present.

Frequently Asked

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED is integrated into the fitting and rated for the lifetime of the product. When the LED reaches end-of-life, the entire fitting would need replacing.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

No. The integrated LED driver is not compatible with dimmer switches. Attempting to dim the fitting may cause flickering or damage to the driver circuit.

What height should it hang at?

For dining tables or kitchen islands, hang the pendant 700-800mm above the surface. This allows the 120-degree beam angle to spread light across the table without glare at eye level when seated.

Why is the glass amber-tinted?

The amber tint softens and warms the appearance of the 3000K LED light, reducing the cooler edge that white LEDs can have when viewed through clear glass. It also adds a decorative accent when the light is off.
