Description

The Double Moon is a vertical pendant light built around two clear glass spheres stacked on a black metal spine, with an integrated 8W LED module casting 950 lumens at 3000K through the clear glass. The spheres sit above and below a central black metal hub, with the LED visible as a vertical element inside each globe, creating a decorative statement when viewed from multiple angles.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the pendant works as a single drop in smaller dining areas or in multiples spaced 600-800mm apart along longer kitchen islands. The vertical arrangement of the two spheres and the central hub means the pendant occupies more vertical space than width, making it suitable for narrower zones where a wide shade would dominate. The 120-degree beam angle from the LED inside each sphere diffuses light outward and downward through the clear glass.

The black metal frame, cylindrical ceiling rose and central hub are powder-coated in a matt black finish that contrasts with the transparency of the glass spheres. Each glass sphere is approximately 200mm in diameter, giving the pendant a substantial presence without blocking sightlines across a dining table. The LED is non-dimmable and rated IP20, meaning the fitting is suitable for dry interior spaces only. The metal spine conceals the cable run from ceiling to glass spheres.

Frequently Asked

Is the Double Moon dimmable?

No. The integrated 8W LED module is non-dimmable and operates at full output when switched on. Pairing it with a dimmer switch is not supported.

What ceiling height is needed?

The vertical drop from ceiling to the bottom of the lower glass sphere is approximately 1.2-1.4m based on the image. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is suitable for dry interior spaces only and does not carry the IP44 or IP65 rating required for bathroom zones.

How is the glass cleaned?

The clear glass spheres can be wiped with a standard glass cleaner or a damp microfibre cloth. Switch off the power at the mains before cleaning and allow the LED to cool if the fitting has been running.
