Description

The Accord is a pendant light with a shade formed from layered dark grey felt blades arranged vertically around a central E27 lampholder, creating an elliptical silhouette approximately 300mm in diameter and 380mm in height. The felt blades overlap slightly, allowing controlled light spill between the layers while the bulk of the output is directed downwards through the open base of the shade.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living room focal points, the Accord works in modern and contemporary interiors where softer materials are preferred over metal or glass. The felt construction absorbs some ambient room noise, making it a practical choice in open-plan spaces with hard floors and minimal soft furnishings. The pendant hangs on a black fabric-covered cable from a black metal ceiling rose, with adjustable drop to suit ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.

The dark grey felt has a dense, uniform texture that shows minimal variation between individual pieces. The blade structure allows the pendant to cast geometric shadow patterns on surrounding walls when lit, particularly noticeable with a clear filament bulb. The aluminium frame hidden inside the felt assembly provides structural rigidity without adding visible metalwork to the exterior. The shade accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W, giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness to suit the room.

What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED in 2700K-3000K for ambient dining light, or a clear filament bulb to emphasise the shadow patterns cast by the felt blades.

Is the pendant dimmable?

Dimming depends on the bulb you choose. If you fit a dimmable LED bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch, the pendant will dim. The fitting itself has no built-in dimming function.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant is suitable for dry indoor environments only. It is not rated for bathrooms or outdoor use.

How is the felt cleaned?

Use a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to low suction, or a lint roller to remove surface dust. Avoid water or cleaning sprays, as the felt is not treated for moisture resistance and will stain or discolour if wetted.
