The Cambio cork veneer pendant light features a sculptural shade built from layered cork veneer segments arranged in a spherical form, creating a natural brown textured surface. The segments are held together by a black aluminium frame with a matching black canopy and cable, and the shade houses a single E27 bulb fitting rated up to 60W. When lit, the bulb casts warm light through the gaps between the cork layers, creating striped shadow patterns on surrounding surfaces.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, and living room conversation areas, the pendant works in mid-century, Scandinavian, and contemporary interiors where natural materials and organic forms are prioritised. The cork veneer provides acoustic dampening properties alongside decorative function, softening sound reflections in open-plan spaces. The pendant typically hangs 700-800mm above a dining surface in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, with the cable length adjustable during installation.

Cork is a renewable material harvested from the bark of cork oak trees without felling the tree itself, making this a lower-impact choice than many synthetic shade materials. The layered construction gives the shade a three-dimensional quality that changes appearance depending on viewing angle. The natural brown tone of the cork warms under incandescent or warm-white LED bulbs, while the black aluminium frame and fittings provide structural contrast. What bulb does it take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to complement the natural cork tone.

Is it dimmable?

No. The pendant is not compatible with dimmer switches. The E27 fitting accepts standard non-dimmable LED, halogen, or filament bulbs only.

Can it be used in a bathroom or outdoor covered area?

No. The IP20 rating means this pendant is suitable for dry indoor environments only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor location even under cover.

How is the cork veneer cleaned?

Cork veneer is porous and should not be wetted. Dust the shade gently with a dry, soft brush or microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable but avoid soaking the cork or using household sprays and polishes.
