Description
This outdoor wall sconce features a black aluminium box frame surrounding a central frosted acrylic panel, housing an integrated 12W 3000K LED rated at 650 lumens. The open-frame design allows light to spill both forward through the panel and laterally through the sides, creating a dual-purpose wash on the wall behind and forward illumination onto pathways or doorways.
Designed for sheltered outdoor positions including front doors, porch entries, courtyard walls and garden passages, the fitting carries an IP54 rating for protection against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction. The 130-degree beam angle spreads light across a wide arc, reducing hard shadows and providing consistent coverage across a 2-3m section of wall or paving. The box frame measures approximately 200mm x 100mm x 100mm (height x width x projection), giving a substantial presence without overwhelming smaller facades.
The black aluminium frame resists corrosion in typical UK outdoor conditions and the powder-coated finish stays intact through temperature fluctuation and UV exposure. The 3000K colour temperature delivers warm white light that renders skin tones and warm-toned masonry naturally, avoiding the clinical tone of cooler LED temperatures. The non-dimmable driver operates on standard 220-240V mains, requiring direct hard-wiring to a junction box or outdoor lighting circuit with appropriate RCD protection.
The frosted acrylic panel diffuses the LED source behind it, preventing glare when viewed directly from street level or garden pathways. The open sides of the frame allow airflow around the LED module, preventing heat build-up that can shorten LED lifespan in sealed outdoor fittings.

Frequently Asked
Can this be used in fully exposed positions?
The IP54 rating protects against dust and splashing water, making it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions such as under eaves, covered porches or recessed doorways. It is not rated for fully exposed positions subject to driving rain or direct hose-down.
Is this dimmable?
No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and operates at fixed output on 220-240V mains. Attempting to dim this fitting with a standard dimmer switch may damage the driver.
What colour temperature is the LED?
The integrated LED is rated at 3000K, delivering warm white light. This is warmer than typical 4000K neutral white exterior fittings and closer to the tone of traditional halogen bulbs.
How is the light distributed?
The open-frame design allows light to project forward through the frosted acrylic panel and laterally through the open sides of the frame. The 130-degree beam angle provides wide coverage, with some wash onto the wall behind the fitting and forward illumination onto the ground or pathway.
