Description

The Orta pendant takes the sputnik form and runs with it, sending dozens of slim brass rods out from a central hub in every direction. It is a design that reads as a starburst, giving you a piece that fills the space above a table or in a hallway with movement and shine. The brushed brass finish keeps the look warm rather than shiny, so it sits comfortably in mid-century and contemporary rooms alike.

Eight bulbs are held close to the core, tucked between the spokes so the light glows out from the middle of the burst. The steel construction keeps the whole thing sturdy despite its open, spiky shape, and the chain suspension lets you set the drop to suit your ceiling height. At 620mm wide it makes a real centrepiece without needing a vast room to carry it.

Hang it over a dining table, in a stairwell where it can be seen from more than one level, or in a living room as the main light source. The radiating rods cast interesting shadows when lit, and catch daylight during the day, so the fitting earns its place whether it is switched on or off.
