The Loughton Metal Bed Frame takes its cue from classic hospital and farmhouse beds, with rounded corner posts, slim vertical bars across the headboard and footboard, and small turned detailing at the joints. The frame is made from mild steel and sits on a set of wooden slats, giving your mattress steady support without the need for a separate base.

It comes in two colourways, a matt black and a softer ivory, so you can pick the one that fits your room. Black suits industrial and modern schemes as well as pared-back bedrooms, while ivory leans towards cottage, coastal and traditional looks. The open barred design keeps the frame feeling light in the room and works well in both larger main bedrooms and guest rooms.

The steel is powder coated for an even, hard-wearing finish, and the sprung wooden slats let air move under the mattress. Assembly is required, with the headboard, footboard and side rails bolting together. To care for it, wipe the metal with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth and avoid harsh cleaners that could mark the coating. Check the fixings now and then and tighten if needed.
