Description

The Nordis solar powered LED wall light pairs a black aluminium mounting bracket with a vertical wood-effect diffuser panel, housing an integrated 2W LED that produces 98 lumens at 3000K. The solar panel sits in the circular aperture at the top of the black bracket, charging an internal 3.7V battery during daylight hours and providing automatic dusk-to-dawn illumination after dark.

Designed for outdoor installation on garden walls, gate posts, shed exteriors and pathway edges, the IP65 rating protects the internal components from dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The wood-effect panel diffuses the LED output across an 87° beam angle, casting downward wash light onto pathways and steps rather than directing a focused beam. The dimmable LED adjusts brightness automatically based on the available charge in the battery.

The aluminium bracket and wood-effect panel give the fitting a combined height of approximately 400mm and a depth of around 80mm when wall-mounted. The black aluminium finish resists weathering and corrosion in typical UK coastal and inland climates, while the wood-effect panel adds a warmer visual tone than solid black or metal-only designs. The solar panel charges in direct or indirect daylight, though performance varies with seasonal daylight hours and panel orientation.

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

Battery run time depends on the amount of sunlight the solar panel receives during the day and the season. In summer with full daylight the battery typically provides 6-8 hours of illumination. In winter with shorter days and lower sun angles, expect 3-5 hours. The dimmable LED adjusts brightness to extend run time when the battery charge is lower.

Does it need to be wired?

No. The light is fully solar powered with an internal rechargeable battery. The only installation requirement is fixing the bracket to a wall or post using appropriate wall plugs and screws for the substrate.

What does IP65 mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the light is dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. It can be installed on exterior walls exposed to rain, but is not rated for submersion. The rating covers typical UK weather including heavy rain and coastal spray.

Can the solar panel be positioned separately?

No. The solar panel is integrated into the top of the black mounting bracket and cannot be detached or repositioned. For optimal charging, install the light on a wall or post that receives several hours of direct or bright indirect sunlight per day.
