Description

The Meli is an 11W LED ceiling module built around a black aluminium housing with a honeycomb diffuser that directs 810 lumens of warm 3000K light downward through a 60-degree beam angle. The fitting runs on low-voltage 48V AC, making it part of a modular track or recessed lighting system rather than a standalone direct-mains fitting.

Designed for residential, retail and hospitality installations where multiple modules are combined to create uniform downlighting or accent zones, the Meli suits dropped ceilings, recessed tracks, or suspended systems with compatible 48V power rails. The honeycomb diffuser spreads light evenly while reducing glare, making the module suitable for task lighting over kitchen islands, commercial displays, or office workstations where direct line-of-sight to the LED chips would be distracting.

The matt black aluminium housing measures approximately 155mm in diameter with a shallow profile that fits ceiling voids as low as 50mm when recessed. The 90 CRI rating renders colours accurately under the light, which matters in retail environments, art galleries, and residential spaces where fabric and finish tones need to read true. The module is rated IP20, limiting it to dry indoor use only.

Does this connect to standard UK mains wiring?

No. The Meli operates on 48V AC low voltage, which means it requires a compatible transformer or power rail system, typically installed as part of a modular track lighting setup. It cannot be wired directly to 230V mains.

Is it dimmable?

The module itself is not dimmable. Dimming would need to be controlled at the 48V power supply or transformer level if the system supports it.

What does the honeycomb diffuser do?

The honeycomb structure on the visible face of the module breaks up direct views of the LED chips and spreads the light more evenly across the 60-degree beam angle. This reduces glare and makes the fitting more comfortable to look at from angles below ceiling level.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating limits the module to dry indoor spaces only. It is not protected against moisture or water ingress.
