Description

The Power Supply Flarity 30W LED driver is a constant voltage power supply that converts 220-240V AC mains input to 24V DC output, designed for powering LED strip lighting, LED tape and other low-voltage LED systems up to 30W total load. The unit sits in a white plastic housing measuring approximately 145mm long by 42mm wide by 21mm high, with terminal blocks at one end for mains input and low-voltage output connections.

Designed for installation inside ceiling voids, behind coving, within furniture and other concealed locations where mains wiring is accessible, the driver requires adequate ventilation around the housing to dissipate heat during operation. The IP20 rating means it must be protected from moisture and is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use or any location where water ingress is possible. The unit connects to mains via a fused spur or junction box, with the 24V output wired directly to the LED load.

The driver operates at 50/60Hz and is compatible with UK and European mains frequencies. The constant voltage output maintains 24V DC regardless of load variation up to the 30W maximum, ensuring consistent brightness across LED strips and preventing voltage drop at the end of longer runs. The driver is not dimmable and provides fixed output only, so any dimming must be controlled by a separate 24V DC dimmer module between the driver and the LED load.

Any 24V DC LED system up to 30W total load, including LED strip lighting, LED tape, under-cabinet LED bars and some low-voltage downlights. Calculate the total wattage of all LED sections connected to ensure it does not exceed 30W.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the driver offers no protection against moisture and must be installed in a dry indoor location only. For bathroom installations the driver must be positioned outside the zones defined in BS 7671 wiring regulations, typically in an adjacent room or loft space.

Is it dimmable?

The driver itself is not dimmable. To dim the connected LED load, install a separate 24V DC dimmer module between the driver output and the LED strip or tape. The driver provides constant 24V output regardless of load.

Where should it be installed?

Inside ceiling voids, behind coving, within furniture or other concealed locations with adequate ventilation. The driver generates heat during operation and requires air circulation around the housing. Do not cover with insulation or pack tightly against other components.
